In Memoriam: Roger W. Brown, P.E.

I regret to inform you that Roger W. Brown, Nebraska Engineer E-4575, died Saturday night, March 6, 2004 at the age of 63. Roger spent the last 2 weeks of his life in the hospital trying to recover from a sudden onset of heart problems combined with pneumonia.

Roger was employed by Lamp, Rynearson & Associates (LRA) as a Construction Engineer from April of 1996 until the time of his death. He was a great person and a great engineer. His dedicated effort was a key part in the successful completion of the Public Improvements portion of the Omaha Arena and Convention Center, Qwest Center, where he worked on 12 projects totaling more than $80 million.

Prior to employment with LRA, Roger had a 34 year career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from May of 1961 until May of 1995. He retired from the position of Director of Program Management where he supervised Engineering Program Managers associated with the design and construction of military construction projects in a 12-state area.

Roger is survived by his wife, Judy; children and spouses, Angela and Mike Pelger, Olathe, KS; Beth and Jeff Cobble, Overland Park, KS; Christian and Julie Brown, Lenexa, KS; grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Emily and Allison Pelger, Cassy, Carly and Jake Cobble, and Madeline Brown.

The family has designated the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association as their preference for any memorial gifts.
